Based on the study conducted by Google scholar, online games such as those offered by Blizzard Entertainment and Electronic Arts may cause negative effects on the teenagers. Those who play them are often confronted with realistic and powerful graphics. During the communication research, the teens had different expectations regarding the type of graphics they would be presented with while playing these video games. They were faced with the same situations whether these video games would be fun or not, but they had different expectations regarding the end product. This therefore suggested that many of the teenagers fail to realize the effects of video games have on their real life, but they do realize the impact on their online life.
